A strongly divided House of Representatives voted 232-196 on Thursday to endorse the Democratic-led impeachment inquiry into President Trump. The vote is an historic action that set up a critical new public phase of the process of impeachment and the resolution outlines the rights and procedures that will guide the process from here on out. It will include, according to NYT the public presentation of evidence and how Mr. Trump and his legal team will be able to eventually mount a defense.
The impeachment process is being voted just very few times: Today’s one is the third in modern USA’s history in which the House voted on an impeachment inquiry into a sitting president.
