Aretha Franklin legendary singers’ funerals will be held in her Detroit on August 31, after a two-day public viewing at a city museum to allow fans to mourn, her publicist said on Friday 17.
The “Queen of Soul” died on Thursday at age 76 after a battle with pancreatic cancer; her fans congregated at key sites in Detroit, her hometown and city of Motown.
The funeral will take place at Greater Grace Temple, which seats about 4,000 people, and will not be open to public, but limited to family, friends and invited guests from around the world.
