According to HRW official website, Roskomnadzor, Russia’s federal agency responsible for overseeing online and media content, took steps to shutter ParniPlus, a website raising awareness about the exploding HIV epidemic among men who have sex with men. ParniPlus closing is the eighth case of outright censorship under russian federal outrageous “gay propaganda” law that effectively prohibits any positive information about “non-traditional sexual relations” from public discussion.

The horrible 2013’s russian law has been condemned by the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child, the European Court of Human Rights, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, and the Council of Europe.

ParniPlus (you can follow them on twitter here) does not promotes sexual orientation, gender identity or human rights: in fact the site, in the past ten years, provided punctual informations about “about the growing HIV epidemic in Russia every month” telling readers “about the need for HIV prevention”.

HRW reports the words of the of Moscow’s Federal AIDS Center who has called Russia’s HIV epidemic a “national catastrophe”.

But Vladimir Putin doesn’t care about it and his censors couldn’t care less.
